Hen Weekend is a new format networking event set up by artist Ellie Harrison. The pilot event took place at De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill on Sea from 30 March - 1 April 2007. It was attended by Julia Alvarez, Diann Bauer, Amanda Beech, Roz Cran, Michelle Deignan, Jeannie Driver, Kirsten Dunne, Jeanie Finlay, Ellie Harrison, Hilary Jack, Emma Leach, Karen Lubbock, George Mogg, Sally O’Reilly, Joanna Spitzner and Lorelei Stewart.
Four of the artists who attended the event were commissioned to make a piece of work in response to their experience. These works by Jeannie Driver, Jeanie Finlay, Karen Lubbock (Karen Magazine) and Sally O’Reilly are now viewable via the website. www.henweekend.org/artworks.html
