I am central to all aspects of producing Karen magazine - recording, photographing, designing, editing and publishing. My intention within the magazine is to present an 'ordinariness' that is based on me engaging with people and my environment. Through the making of the magazine, I have begun to question the established way that many magazines communicate. I am interested in celebrity culture and how this is mediated and consumed. I am interested in how 'ordinary' people represent themselves and are represented in the media. |
