Hen Weekend in Bexhill on Sea

De La Warr Pavilion

The Hen Weekend in Bexhill on Sea was the pilot event. It took place from Friday 30 March - Sunday 1 April 2007 at De La Warr Pavilion (pictured above). The pilot was used to tryout the event format and to gain feedback from participants to help develop further events. It was also a lot of fun!

For the pilot event the weekend's activities began with a reception at the Camden Arts Centre in London. After a meet-and-greet, refreshments and a look around the exhibitions at the centre, the group embarked on a mini bus trip down to the coast.

Details about the 16 artists, writers and curators who took part in Hen Weekend in Bexhill on Sea can be found in the artists section. Four of the attending artists were also commissioned to document the event in some way. These four works by Jeannie Driver, Jeanie Finlay, Karen Lubbock and Sally O'Reilly are now published in the artworks section.

There are also photos from the event published on Flickr.
